Movie Making for Beginners

Tired of having many years worth of family videos that nobody looks at? Do you want to learn how to create a video tribute for a beloved parent or a commemorative keepsake of your cub scout troop? Join us for this 2 part class in which you will learn to import and organize video clips, select and edit footage, and create movies with themes, transitions, titles, sound and special effects. You will also learn how to create archival digital media, and share your creations on DVDs, youtube, facebook and other social media. No previous knowledge of video editing is necessary.  Some basic familiarity with computers is assumed. Everything is provided, but you may bring some of your video clips if you like.

We will discuss and practice how to get the best photographs, tips and tricks on how to pose, distract, and capture your kids at their best, and camera settings and features to be sure you are maximizing the potential of your camera. Let’s explore the world of HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography.  Learn how to create and combine multiple exposure images to create stunning images with a dynamic range of light.  In this two meeting course we will simplify how to adjust your camera and demonstrate some of the latest HDR programs for effective post processing.

In our first meeting we will have a hands-on photo shoot at Stanford University.  Learn the best strategies for visualizing, composing, and bracketing multiple exposure photographs. Our second meeting will take us to the classroom where we will cover the HDR processing in Photoshop CS5 and Photomatix and how to create realistic dynamic range photographs, and the popular surrealistic.

Recommended but not required, bring your laptop with Photoshop CS5 or download the FREE Photomatix trial at www.hdrsoft.com

Introduction to Your Digital Camera

Do you have a new camera and want to know more about how it works? Join me with your camera for a fun evening as we unlock the real potential for great photography. We will discuss camera setting, features, composition, and the many other facets of your camera. We will be addressing Digital SLR and point-and-shoot cameras. Digital Photo Book Club (Once a month meeting)  NEW!

7PM- 9PM, 3rd Wednesday of every month, starting February 15th, 2012 

Do you find yourself making plans to create Photo Books or Video Slideshows with the dozens, or even hundreds of digital photos you have, but never actually get around to it? Do you need a bit of a push to get yourself going, or maybe some help with pesky technical issues? Then the Digital Photo Book Club is for you! For a nominal fee of $10 per session, join like-minded folks in creating photo books and slideshows, which can tell stories about your vacation or your family. Bring your pictures and use our iMacs and software (iPhoto, My Memories Suite Scrapbooking software, iMovie), or bring your own laptop and come for the company. Our staff will help you with any technical issues that may arise. This is an ongoing club, meaning you can complete your projects on your own schedule.
